The Jewish Community Council of the Rockaway Peninsula and the Rockaway Civilian Safety Patrol has set up a command center at the Young Israel of Wavecrest & Bayswater located at 2716 Healy Ave in Far Rockaway, NY.

At this location there will be 24hr personal assistance to help the community members of Far Rockaway and Bayswater with their immediate needs.

Members at this location are working in conjunction with NYPD’s 101 precinct, RCSP, JCCRP food bank, Achiezer, Hatzalah and Assemblyman Phil Goldfeder. RCSP reports that patrols protected the area for the past 24 hours and during that time homeowners did not report any serious problems. JCCRP has organized a free food distribution of essential food items like milk, juice bread and dry goods at the Young Israel of Bayswater today between the hours of 11 and 4.
