Israel: Winter Driving Regulations Begin on November 1st

Winter driving regulations go into effect in Israel on Thursday, November 1, 2012. This requires motorists to turn on headlights while traveling on inter-city roads during daylight hours. Failure to comply can result in a 100 NIS fine and 2 points on one’s license. The winter regulations continue through March 31, 2013.

Regarding buses, taxis and two-wheeled motorized vehicles, drivers must travel with lights on at all times, including urban roadways.

Motorized two-wheeled vehicles must have headlights on year-round, not just during the winter months.
