Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu will travel to France this week for an official state visit. During the visit he will visit the Otzar HaTorah School in Toulouse, the site of the March 2012 fatal terror attack that claimed the lives Rav Yochanan Sandler and his children Aryeh (6) and Gavriel (4) along with Miriam Monsonego (8) HY”D.
Leaders of the Toulouse Jewish community admit that the tzibur does not appear to be getting back to itself since that horrific attack.
“It’s no secret that the local Jewish community is going through a difficult period since the Toulouse attack” the daily Yisrael HaYom quotes Israeli Consul General in Marseilles Barnea Hassid as saying. Mr. Hassid was a guest of honor at a Jewish community event earlier in the week in which the increasing anti-Semitism in France was on the agenda. The worrisome rise in anti-Semitism in France will also be discussed in a meeting between Mr. Netanyahu and French President Francois Hollande.
Hassid adds “French officials are aware of the situation and are acting with determination against the alarming trend.”
