For some areas of Eretz Yisrael, winter began on shabbos Parshas Lech Lecha. Some northern areas experienced strong wind gusts and isolated thundershowers that resulted in local flooding. In Haifa, meteorologists measured 80mm (3.1 inches) of rainfall.
Most other areas reported less, including; Nahariya (83mm/3.2”), Akko (45mm/1.7”), Tzfas (20mm/0.7”), Tiveria (17mm/0.6”), Afula (11mm/0.4”), Netanya (9mm/0.3”), Tel Aviv (7mm/0.2”) and Ashdod (3mm/0.1”).
In Haifa, which received double the monthly average for October, there were reports of flooding in homes and roadways and off the coast of Tel Aviv, 11 divers whose vessel capsized and were nearly exhausted were rescued about one kilometer (0.6 miles) out. The victims were from the Octopus Diving School and apparently drifted south towards Jaffa and became entangled in the storm.

boker tov,
a, if this happened on Shabbos, why did it take so long to make it here in this timely newspaper?
b, if this happened on Shabbos, why show an illustration of umbrellas opened which is forbidden on Shabbos?
c, why am I reading such tripe?
What makes this ‘tripe’?many of us are very interested in the goings of E”Y and calling a bracha such as rain ‘tripe’ is offensive.
