Betar Illit Mayor Rav Meir Rubinstein has returned home from a successful fundraising trip in London where he sought support for a number of projects in the chareidi city. The mayor met with a number of admorim and enlisted the assistance of a number of prominent philanthropists towards implementing new projects to improve the chinuch in the city and to assist members in the community in need.
The rav reports he received brachos from a number of gedolim, including Rav Ephraim Padwa Shlita, Gavaad and Mora D’asra of the Hisachdus HaKehillos HaChareidim in London. The rav was received warmly during a visit with the kehila in Stamford Hill.
A melave malka was held to raise funds for a new mikve as well as a dinner in which hundreds of residents took part.
