In his weekly motzei shabbos drasha, Chacham Ovadia spoke of the events in Shas last week, the achdus that took place, calling it a Kiddush Hashem. He mentioned Aryeh Deri, Eli Yishai and Yisrael Atias by name, praising their willingness to be part of this initiative.

Chacham Ovadia added “Ashkenazim and Sephardim have been telephoning them to congratulate them.” One of calls he received was “the rav from Netanya, the Sanzer Rebbe Shlita, who told me he was reciting tehillim for their success”.

Rav Ovadia Shlita added the Sanzer Rebbe told him that he was davening for the success of the achdus effort, which he too called a Kiddush Hashem.
