A grad katyusha rocket impacted in the yard of a home in the southern city of Netivot on erev shabbos resulting in significant property damage to the home and an adjacent public building. B’chasdei Hashem there was no loss of life. MDA personnel treated at least two victims of hysteria and it appears one male had a heart attack as a result of the rocket fire attack. There is no information on the latter’s condition.

The air force retaliated with targeted strikes against terrorists in northern and central Hamas-controlled Gaza. At least 3 terrorists were killed in the Jabalya area of northern Gaza. Others were injured. According to Israeli military sources, the terrorists were affiliated with the Global Jihad organization. A Hamas facility in the Sheikh Radjwan area of Gaza City was also targeted by the air force.

Gaza sources reported on Sunday morning 28 Tishrei 5773 that one terrorist was killed and another injured in an IAF assault in the Khan Yunis area of southern Gaza. This assault occurred earlier in the day, targeting the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine terrorist while he was riding on a motorcycle.

Due to the escalation in rocket fire into southern Israel, security officials on Sunday morning instructed Gaza residents to remain close to shelters and safe rooms as IDF commanders expect additional rocket fire due to the successful retaliatory strikes in Gaza.
