PM Blames Barak For Compromising Relations With US


After a meeting with Finance Minister Dr. Yuval Shteinitz Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu commented that Defense Minister Ehud Barak has complicated relations between Israel and the United States, Yisrael HaYom reports.

According to the report, the prime minister was speaking in confidence, quoted as saying “Barak opposed me in his talks in Washington and I don’t trust him anymore.”

According to the report, what really angered the prime minister is that he learned in his talks with American officials, Barak presented himself as the moderate while the prime minister is an extremist and unrealistic, without using those exact words.

The report released on Thursday 18 Tishrei 5773 states that since his return to Israel the two have not met.

Adding to the tensions is the meeting that Barak held in Chicago with Mayor Rahm Emanuel, a meeting which aides to the prime minister explain was not coordinated with Mr. Netanyahu.
