Today, 11 Tishrei is Maran HaGaon HaRav Ovadia Yosef’s Shlita birthday. The gadol hador is 92. A modest family event will be held during the course of the day to permit the rav’s mishpacha to wish him well and share the moment with him.
In truth, there is a question as to his age, for some say 94. His identity card says תרע”ט. However, when asked what year he was born in, he responded תרפ”א.
One explanation is that he moved with his parents to Eretz Yisrael at the age of 4, and his new identity card in Israel wrote the aliyah year as his birth year.

please stop reporting ages of Tzaddikim every time they are spoken about or every birthday.
it puts a klala on them & causes a ayin hara on them C”V. we lost enough tzaddim already R”L & need our remaining tzaddikim to guide us until mashiach arrives (each yid has HIS rav & gadol to guide him on the right path & there are many yidden of many kinds of yidden each with their own rabbonim to guide them with daas torah)

A two year discrepancy (92 v. 94) can’t be attributed to a 4 year error upon aliya (changing birth date to aliya date).
