Just two years ago Avi Kehat had a dream. His dream was to launch a crowdfunding website that would not take any commission like popular sites such as GoFundMe. His dream has far surpassed his expectations. This week, The Chesed Fund has passed the $10 Million Dollar mark – and is now on its way to its next milestone.
Some of the funds have raised over $500,000 alone and scores of other campaigns are seeing success with the new platform.
The developers had undertaken this initiative years ago as a Chesed they could offer the global Jewish community.
“We noticed that GoFundMe and other crowdfunding sites had been used for many Jewish causes and we just wanted to help the people keep their hard earned funds” states Kehat.
He undertook the initiative and spent thousand of hours on the development of this platform and made it completely commission free.
“The only fee involved is the credit card processing fees, we just couldn’t find a way around that” says Kehat.
The credit card processing is handled by ‘Stripe’ which is a 3rd party credit card processor.
“The site does not profit from those fees and we have chosen ‘Stripe’ simply because they offer very flexible development tools.
“We are ecstatic about the response and we will continue using our skills to keep this Chesed project going” Kehat told YWN.
Kehat also says a beautiful new website will be launched in the near future with many new features and options to help those in need raise funds – all free of charge!
