AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee) on erev Rosh Hashanah sent a special pre yomtov message to President Barak Obama, thanking him for his “steadfast” support of Israel.
Sadly, for AIPAC it has always been what’s good for its agenda as it continues walking the tight rope, never endangering being perceived as loyal Americans by being too Jewish and worrying too much about Israel, the powerful Washington lobby has earned itself a prominent place in Washington, with access to national leaders and policy-makers, but at what expense.
It is clear the publicized message as Obama is fighting for the Jewish vote in the US presidential race is a slap in the face to Republican contender Mitt Romney, who tells it like it is, telling Obama he simply “threw Israel under the bus”.
Never wishing to risk having the White House door closed in its face, AIPAC officials can be counted upon to release the politically correct statement, even when such a statement comes at Israel’s expense.
“With Israel and America facing unprecedented threats and challenges in the Middle East, we deeply appreciate the close and unshakeable partnership between the United States and Israel,” the statement read. “President Obama and the bipartisan, bicameral congressional leadership, have deepened America’s support for Israel in difficult times.”
“As Rosh Hashanah nears, AIPAC – its leadership and staff – extends to Israel’s strongest supporters heartfelt appreciation for the work of this administration and Congress to strengthen the US-Israel relationship.”
“We stand ready to work together in the year ahead to enable both countries to meet the serious challenges we face, especially preventing Iran from acquiring nuclear capabilities.”

Whoever wrote this article obviously does not understand DC politics, and does not have a full grasp on what AIPAC really does.
Does this editorial represent the official YWN position concerning AIPAC?
