A fire broke out during the night (Motzei Shabbos to Sunday erev Rosh Hashanah) in an apartment building on David Raziel Street in Ramle. A woman trying to escape the inferno jumped from the fourth floor to escape the flames. The woman was critically injured and R”L died a short time later. Her husband is reported in light-to-moderate condition, treated for smoke inhalation. Ichud Hatzalah and MDA medics treated the victims on the scene.

Ichud Hatzalah reports treating a total of 18 victims, two listed in serious condition, including an infant, three moderate and the remainder light. They were transported to Assaf HaRofeh Hospital and Tel Hashomer Hospital.

The cause of the blaze is not known at the time of this report.
