For the first time since Israel and Egypt signed a peace agreement over thirty years ago, El Al has announced it is halting service to and from Cairo, citing a loss on that line as the reason for the cessation of service, Kol Chai Radio reported.
El Al officials explain that security and other arrangements for the route are simply too costly and the decision was made to eliminate service to cut losses.
The announcement did not state on what date service to Cairo would be terminated.
