Inspectors of the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Health worked hand-in-hand with Tira police towards successfully intercepting a shipment of treif meat originating in PA (Palestinian Authority) autonomous areas, being smuggled into Green Line Israel. The shipment weighed 1,840kg (4,048lbs).
Baruch Hashem the shipment, which posed a health threat as well as a kashrus issue was apprehended and will be destroyed by government officials.

Does bal tashchis apply to treife meat?
Whatever, there are plenty of goyim living legitimately in Israel who can, permissably, eat treife meat. Maybe the shipment was intended for them.
And what about the ultimate double standard – if yeshivaleit are to be excused military service because they won’t serve a secular state why shouldn’t that state permit the trade of treife meat?
What do others think?
Why don’t they just send it back to the PA and let them get sick from the bad meat? And @1, you’re right, they should arrest the people it was going to.
