Rabbi Wosner, the Shevet HaLevi, is also a talmid of Chochmei Lublin from Poland. Baruch HaShem, he is still going strong.
please post the time and location of the levaya in the US.
…regarded as the last of the talmidim of Chachmei Lubin
This is a MISTAKE:
The posek hador Hagaon Rav Shmuel Wosner Shlit”a of Bnei Brak is also a talmid of Yeshivas Chachmei Lublin. He turned 99 last week – ad 120.
Also there is a great Talmid chochom by the name of Rav Lichtig, who is the rav of a shul in Kensington, Brooklyn, NY who is 97 annd also leaned in YCL.
What do you mean? Rav Shmuel Wasner Shtit”a is a Talmid of Chachmei Lublin as well.
Boruch Dayan HaEmes.
Not sure where youre getting this information from, but Rav Elimelech Ashkenazi was NOT the last of the talmidim of Chachmei Lubin. Rav Wosner Shlit”a was a talmid, and there is at least one more currently living in Yerushalayim, both were in Chachmei Lubin when Harav Meyer Shapiro zt”l was still there.
what? how can he be “regarded as the last of the talmidim of Chachmei Lubin”? what about harav wosner shlit”a?
