Rishon L’Tzion HaGaon HaRav Moshe Shlomo Amar Shlita visited the IDF’s General Staff Base in Tel Aviv, located in the Kirya. The rav’ visit was on Sunday, 8 Elul 5772, meeting with IDF Chief Rabbi Brigadier-General Rafi Peretz and other officers of the military rabbinate.

R’ Peretz was visibly pleased by the visit, citing the base has not merited such a visit for a number of years.

Officers who were present during the meeting point out that sensitivity of the base, which houses the offices of the prime minister and defense minister, as well as the office of the IDF chief of staff.

Rav Amar also met with Deputy IDF Chief of Staff Major-General Yair Naveh, then meeting with a number of frum soldiers on the base, giving them all a chizuk ahead of Rosh Hashanah.
