The thrill of seeing exotic animals from the comfort of your car, and cringing as they nuzzle your windshield, will come to an end next month.
Six Flags Wild Safari announced today guests will no longer be allowed to drive through the park after Sept. 30.
“We are discontinuing allowing cars to drive through Wild Safari at the end of the 2012 season,” said company spokeswoman Kristin Siebeneicher.
Officials offered little comment, except to say a further announcement of “what is happening to the property” will be made Aug. 30.
“We will have an announcement then that will include changes to other areas of the park as well,” Siebeneicher said. She described them as “monumental.”
