A Jewish male was taken into custody on Sunday, 2 Rosh Chodesh Elul 5772 suspected of hurling rocks at an Arab vehicle in the Gush Etzion district. The arrest was made based on a description of the attacker provided by the victims.
Police are more interested in establishing a connection between the man and a firebomb attack in the Gush last week against an Arab taxi that left one person with serious injuries. A total of six persons were injured in the firebomb attack.
That attack was condemned by President Shimon Peres and Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu, both calling on security agencies to do their utmost to bring the attacker to justice.
