Poll: PM Netanyahu’s Popularity at an All Time Low

According to a poll published on Thursday, 14 Menachem Av 5772, support for Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is at an all time low. The poll explains the public is disappointed with the prime minister’s economic policies based on this week’s cabinet vote approving tax and price increases as well as the government’s failure to draft a new Tal Law.

The prime minister lost 11% of his support base since the last Haaretz poll on July 8, 2012, less than a month ago.

31% of residents are pleased with the prime minister’s performance while 60% express dissatisfaction. This surpasses previous “dissatisfaction” ratings, which in the past did not exceed 54%.

Mr. Netanyahu enjoyed higher ratings after the release of IDF soldier Gilad Shalit and following successful efforts to bring the Carmel Fire blaze under control.

The poll also cites growing dissatisfaction with Finance Minister Dr. Yuval Shteinitz. 67% of respondents are dissatisfied with his performance as compared to 19% that support his policies.

The poll was conducted by the Dialogue Company, supervised by Professor Camil Fuchs of Tel Aviv University.

  1. However the only readily available alternatives are considered worse by his coalition partners, so there is no danger he’ll be dumped.
