An IDF tank patrolling along the Egyptian border was targeted in an anti-rocket attack on Wednesday morning. The tank’s ‘Wind Breaker’ anti-rocket system neutralized the incoming projectile and B’chasdei Hashem, there were no injuries.
The Sinai area has become the focus of concerns for the defense and intelligence communities fearing the area has become a terrorist base following the ousting of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak. While newly-election Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi has released statements committing to honor agreements signed with Israel, the latter’s affiliation with the Muslim Brotherhood is cause for concern in Israel.
Officials continue to monitor the situation and fear that as Sinai becomes a launching pad for terror attacks aimed at Israel, an IDF military response in Sinai may become essential at some point after years of the area being classified as a quiet border.

Dear Editor,
I think the article’s first sentence should read, “…targeted in an anti-tank rocket attack…”
