Does anyone know if there will be food for sale?
Minor details.. what time does it start? 7 PM
with all due respect to the torah leaders on the dais, why is one of the most important kibbudim, the siyum kaddish, going out to a sponsor? since when did this thing morph into a cash cow for agudah? as a fellow daf learner, it seems really inappropriate that such a simcha being celebrated by so many gets transformed into what is effectively an agudah convention. schottenstein is not ‘our’ representative like the other gedolim–he paid enough money to sponsor the event, which is fine. but the kaddish should be said in memory of the 6,000,000 kedoshim–not a rich (upstanding and wonderful) individual, whether or not he donated money for a gemara publication.

It’s pouring! Why don’t they push it off to the rain date?
#3, you know your comment is not going to change a thing. All it does is insult a wonderful person who helped make this amazing event a reality.
#1 – there will be kosher snacks & drinks sold at the siyum as per the ad I read.
Litvish # 3 is NOT insulting anvbody. All he (and I agree) is saying is that this KOVOD should be awarded to a Godol. The same could be said about the “other” ballei Battim who are speaking.
to # 7.
Be’mechilas kodcha, the observation of the commentator may change people into allowing them to have a more realistic understanding of the agudah
1. Limited food/drink will be available.
3. Did it ever dawn on you that if not for the Schottenstein family, maybe just maybe shas would be learned by about 25% of the people that are learning? Not everyone is as talented as you who could pick up a gemora and learn.
Personally, where are the tehillim for Jonathan Pollard? Tehillim for residents of Southern Israel and tehillim l’zechur all the kedoshim of terror attacks.
Where is Ahavas Yisroel in these comments? Let it go, as to who gets the kovod, and just revel in this massive event.
I agree with zionflag
would have like to go but couldn’t. It’s looks amazing, many people together celebrating Torah B’H
To #3
Jay Schottenstein is a chashuve yid, a big bal tzadakah and talmid chacham in his own right and as as much if not more deserving of this kavod than any “gadol” attending tonight.
This is an official # provided by New Tel Systems for translation.

Gadolhadorah
Your attitude towards gedolim makes my stomach churn.
to #3,
Schottenstein family, is directly responable for a significant percentage of yidden learning Dafyomi.
that under anyone’s measuring stick puts him as a plyer in a siyum Hashas. Maybe they are his talmidim. therefor he would have perhaps the largest amount of talmidim there?
I’ll leave you with one small miniscule fact. the daf yomi i attend would not function if not for the English Artscroll. (As quoted by the Maggid shiur himself.)
