The Dirshu Siyum HaShas is scheduled to take place tonight (Monday night), the eve of 12 Menachem Av in the Yad Eliyahu Stadium in Tel Aviv. The doors of the siyum open at 16:00 and mincha will follow at 16:30. The big event will follow immediately after davening. Participants, including talmidei chachamim and students from around the world will be taking part in the major torah happening.
The Chasnei ‘Kinyan Shas’ were tested last week in one comprehensive exam. Organizers report hundreds of buses and other vehicles will bring participants from around the country.
Organizers add that simultaneously, the N’shos Dirshu event will be taking place in Yerushalayim, Bnei Brak, Haifa and Ashdod. The main event will be aired to women around the country as part of the hakoras hatov that exists for the women for their role in making Dirshu the success it has become. Broadcasts will be aired in Binyanei Ha’uma in Yerushalayim, the Ramat Elchanan Matnas in Bnei Brak, as well as in matnassim (community centers) in Haifa and Ashdod. Many professionals are working towards making the event a success, especially to make certain the broadcasts occur with technical hitches.
Maranan V’Rabbanan Shlita will take part in the main event along with Dirshu representatives from around the world. There are delegations attending from France, London, Russia, Belarus, Ukraine, Belgium, Canada, USA and more.
Organizers are appealing to those planning to come to the Tel Aviv stadium to refrain from doing so if they do not have a ticket for anyone without a ticket will not be permitted to enter the premises and there will be no exceptions made. There will be heavy security at all the gates to make certain only those with a ticket are permitted to enter.
Participants will receive a one volume חמישה חומשי תורה with Rashi and Rambam. This new volume, printed especially for the event, will be available in book stores nationwide as well.
