A woman describe as ‘disturbed’ entered a branch of Zol U’Vgadol in Meah Shearim on Thursdayand asked that the store permit her to shop for free. When her request was declined, she warned that if they do not accommodate her she would “cause a stir” but they did not believe her, asking her to leave.
She left, and apparently returned and not too long after shouts were heard from in the store “A woman in undressing – pritzus! Call the police”
The store owner did just that and police and Yassam commando police arrived on the scene in record time as shoppers fled the store. Police blocked the entrance as shoppers remained outside. A female checkout employee approached the women causing the stir and persuading her to get dressed and leave. She complied, police left and the store reopened.

lo chassar lanu meshugayim. It is a shame that there are so many nut cases in the frum community. They should open courses at Yeshivas and Seminaries to teach the students how to deal with unfortunates such as this since it seems to be multiplying too fast for comfort.
Why did they call the police? As far as I know, the only Heter give in that neighborhood for using the Israeli police is if there is a clear threat to life. Seems attitudes have changed and now it is alright to use them for minor nuisances as well. Instead of panicking and calling the police, it would have been better to restrain the woman and call for medical/psychiatric help. Now that it is known that a naked woman can result in mass panic, I am afraid that the femanazi crazies will be organizing parades of them.

#2- If she was one of “our” women, it was improper to call the police – albeit there is probably a need for a frum organization (similar to Hatzalah) to be available in such situations. If she was a hiloni or Arab women, better for the police to take care of it.
