I wanted to take this opportunity to support Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s tough stance in the wake of the Colorado shootings, holding both Presidential candidates’ feet to the fire on gun control. Bravo to the Mayor. He said what needed to be said. Now it is up to both President Obama and Mitt Romney to act before more children are slaughtered.
The tragedy in Aurora should be a moment that unites this nation in more than grief and sorrow. It should unite us in action. There is no excuse for bills that would restrict the availability of ammunition clips for assault weapons to continue to languish in Congress. What else has to happen before we learn?
