The first of two Israel Air Force Hercules transport planes bringing survivors of the terror attack in Bulgaria has arrived in Ben-Gurion International Airport. The plane is carrying 34 attack victims in addition to medical personnel and flight crew.
34 MDA ambulances are standing by and they will transport the survivors to hospitals around Israel. Listed are Assaf HaRofeh (Tel Aviv), Ichilov (Petach Tikvah), Ha’emek (Afula), Soroka (Beersheva), Nahariya, Rambam (Haifa), and Laniado Hospital (Netanya). Every effort was made to have victims hospitalized near their home communities.
The hospital designations were decided upon by the IDF medical team treating the victims prior to takeoff from Bulgaria.
A second flight is scheduled to arrive in the coming hours.
Zaka, IDF and Israel Police forensic experts are working towards identifying and obtaining the release of the five Israelis murdered in the attack for kvura in Eretz Yisrael.
In addition, IDF medical personnel are in Sofia where three victims in serious condition are hospitalized. All efforts will be made to stabilize their condition and fly them home to Israel as expeditiously as possible.
A special Bituach Leumi team was dispatched to meet with and address the needs of the victims of the attack arriving in Israel. Bituach Leumi has paid to fly family members of the seriously wounded victims hospitalized in Sofia.
