High Security in NYC After Bulgarian Bus Explosion

The NYPD is putting extra patrols and security in place in Jewish communities and synagogues Wednesday, after a deadly explosion on a bus in Bulgaria carrying Israeli tourists, department spokesman Paul Browne said.

Four people were killed and at least 30 injured in the explosion at an airport in Burgas, which Bulgarian officials did not confirm as terror-related but which the Israeli prime minister blamed on Iran.

The stepped-up security in New York is precautionary, Browne said.

  1. I was wondering why they were checking people in the subway. At least they’re trying to be on top of things

  2. Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu eulogized Rabbi Yehuda Amital upon hearing of his death on Friday.

“Rabbi Amital who also fought in the War of Independence was an example to all of us for his love of Israel,” said Netanyahu. He continued, “A lover of peace, a follower of peace that loved all of humanity and sought to bring them closer to the Torah. May his memory be revered.”

Wow the Prime minister is becoming frum, about time. I surely hope he impliments it too. And perhaps reconsiders a more constructive way in increasing the Charedim in the army.
