Ramon Launching Party on Shadow of Plesner Committee’s Failure

Chaim Ramon, a once senior figure in the Labor party and government minister and a driving force behind the establishment of Kadima has announced he is in the midst of forming a new party. He explains that Kadima leader Deputy Prime Minister Shaul Mofaz has “sold out” by agreeing to enter into the current coalition government. Ramon feels Kadima abandoned its responsibility as the opposition leader and lost its right to exist by entering into the government.

Ramon predicts Kadima will soon be a thing of the past, gone from the political map, and his new party will become the alternative to the coalition members today.

Ramon broke away from Kadima following the election of Shaul Mofaz as the leader, ousting Tzipi Livni. He stated that Mofaz is not the right man for the job and he will destroy the party.

With the announcement by Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu that the Plesner Committee failed in its mission, all eyes are on Mofaz, who justified entering the coalition by promising a military draft for chareidim.

Ramon on the other hand is capitalizing on the situation, announcing the birth of his new party, which he is confident will earn him a respectable place back in the political arena.

  1. Very good Dovid2! Perhaps they should take Shimon “a-Loser” as their “spiritual” leader!
What surprises me is that both Kadima, Barak’s “independent” party, and now this are all nothing more than opportunists – yet no one seems to see through them. How come???
