Lights went out in Terminal 3 at Ben-Gurion International Airport on Wednesday night, at 23:50. Needless to say those present were shocked as they tried understanding what was taking place.
The emergency generator did kick in, providing lighting to the building and landing strips in the area. Planes continued taking off on schedule, but departing flights were delayed, including two Pegasus flights to Turkey, and flights to the United States, Riga, Moscow, and Johannesburg.
Airport officials and Israel Electric Company technicians are working together towards understanding the cause of the interruption in service and to take corrective action
