The parents of children who are treated in the Hadassah Hospital Hematology-Oncology unit have stopped their hunger strike at the behest of the court-appointed arbitrator, retired High Court Justice Elyakim Rubinstein.
The High Court on Wednesday heard a petition on behalf of the parents presented to the court by attorney Elad Shraga. The court suggested a compromise, which was rejected by the parents. This led Justice Danziger to compel the sides to enter into arbitration, appointing Rubinstein to the position.
A representative of the parents explain their decision is a good-will gesture as they enter into talks with hospital officials, expressing their hope that the talks led by Rubinstein would lead to a “true solution”.
Rubinstein spoke with the parents on Thursday morning 5 Tammuz, leading to their decision as they are about to enter into talks.
