Most of the 14 soldiers who sustained smoke inhalation in the IDF base Jerusalem’s Mount Scopus on Sunday, were listed in light condition, with the exception of one who sustained moderate injuries. It appears that teenagers threw burning fireworks into the base and that touched off a sizable brush fire due to the hot and dry conditions as the nation endures the season’s first major heat-wave.

Officials add that of late, there has been an alarming increase in the number of area brush fires, adding since the beginning of the month 284 brush fires were recorded, with many suspected the result of terrorist arson, terrorism in the form of fire.
