The Boro Park Orthodox Jewish community is reeling with this anger this morning, as they woke up to find swastikas and other hateful messages on at least five locations – one of them a Shul.
The NYPD Hate Crimes Unit is currently on the scene investigating the following locations:
4609 16th Avenue – Stolin Bais Medrash
4619 16th Avenue – 16th Avenue Glatt Takeout
4471 16th Avenue – Fishmans Grocery
1605 46th Street – (An office building)
4623 18th Avenue – a Mikva
UPDATE 8:40AM: Another swastika has been found – this one on a public school. The Montauk Junior High School, on 42nd Street and 16th Avenue, has a big swastika painted on the building.
Sources tell us that there may be a seventh location as well.
Further details will be published shortly.

Whether you like it or not, we are in Galus. I know it may be very hard for some of you to realize this, but its the Ribonei Shel Oilam sending us a clear message, not to feel too at home here in galus and to strive to be better yidden.
Most highly-publicised “hate crimes” turn out to be hoaxes. Maybe this one is different, but maybe not.
to poster 2-this is as legitamite as anything-its a metzius, they are there.
To me it sounds like it was done by a disgruntled worker from one of those stores. And everything else just because it happened to be on the way.
Saj, yes, they’re there, but who put them there, and why? I’m still going with “hoax”.
What’S the difference? So it’s a “hate crime hoax.”
The difference is that there’s no reason to get all upset over some petty vandalism. Until there is clear evidence that it was done by antisemites, a fuss is premature, and will only serve to discredit us when a real antisemitic incident occurs.
