Magen David Adom Ayalon District dispatch received the call for a vehicular accident on Highway 443 near the Maccabim Checkpoint at 9:27AM on Tuesday morning, 26 Sivan. The accident was a fatal one, claiming the life of the driver of a motorcycle who broadsided a tractor trailer.

When the first paramedics and EMTs arrived on the scene, they found an approximately 45-year-old male in traumatic cardiac arrest. The victim was pronounced dead on the scene following failed resuscitation efforts by MDA and IDF medical personnel.

The motorcycle driver was identified as prominent attorney Elkana Bishitz z”l, 41, a resident of Bnei Brak with close ties to the chareidi community. He was raised in a chareidi home and maintained strong ties with the tzibur, particularly with askanim in the Gerre community.

“I came to take care of the body of the deceased. I picked up the cover and discovered to my great surprise that this was an old acquaintance of mine, a well-known attorney” says Central District Zaka Operations Officer Berela Yakobovitz. “I have treated hundreds and thousands of bodies over the years, but in the case, I treated a person with whom I met only last night. It is chilling” he concluded.
