A federal judge gave the green light to a lawsuit against police in the arrests of 700 Occupy Wall Street protesters last year on the Brooklyn Bridge.
Judge Jed Rakoff said the marchers adequately backed up their claims that they were not properly warned by officers that they would be arrested on the bridge.
The judge did toss out New York City, Mayor Bloomberg and Police Commissioner Ray Kelly as defendants in the suit.
The judge said there was no evidence offered that the city or its top officials had a policy of making false arrests designed to discourage protesting.
