Turkish officials announced on Tuesday, that on October 6, 2012, the trial will take place for former IDF Chief of Staff Gabi Ashkenazi and three other senior officers for their role in the Mavi Marmara.

According to a New York Times report, the trial will permit the 490 people listed in the indictment to present their testimony to the court while trying the officers in absentia.
