A Jerusalem municipality inspector on Monday morning was assaulted on Yoel Street near Meah Shearim after writing a parking summons for a vehicle.
After the driver of the vehicle was issued the summons he got into a verbal altercation with the inspector during which time a crowd gathered around them. A few individuals decided the time was right and they assaulted the ticket inspector.
They grabbed his book of summonses while he was trying to call police for assistance. Police were met with verbal insults and rocks.
There were no reports of injuries or arrests.

HELP…LIFE IN THE JUNGLE.
and storekeepers of Meah Shearim wonder where are the tourists and residents and why they don’t shop there anymore…let them know that many of us AVOID THE JUNGLE.
This is what happens in a society that is totally partitioned into social castes. How many city inspectors are Hareidi? Once you have such a society, the ruling group comes to be seen as hostile occupiers. It is a sign of social breakdown within Israel.
#2 Dreit nisht kein kup. This is what happens when you are brought up in a society that is paranoid about “Zionists” and where violence is never condemned.
Like the Arabs, the Yerushalmis see the Israeli govt as an occupying force.
Communities of Geula and Meah Shearim have been around long before the State of Israel.
#3, I agree. #4, in Israel they put up with such chutzpa.
In some other countries the Yerushalmis would have been taught a lesson.
רבי חנינא סגן הכהנים אומר, הוי מתפלל בשלומה של מלכות , שאלמלא מוראה, איש את רעהו חיים בלעו.
why are we talking about “meah shearim” as if the whole meah
shearim was involved. All of you are a bunch of anti semites in disguise. Just because there are a few bored meshugoyim, you are writing off a whole community. Disgrace on you! 99% of meah shearimniks are tzaddikim and we have no right to talk against them!
Posting a photo of Chassidim, not related to the incident, is painting a false picture of who really attacked the officer who was giving the ticket.
Perhaps we should get the “real” picture and see what the person really looked like before commenting on people who are true and ehrlich!
