The Tel Aviv District Court accepted a criminal indictment against a 42-year-old female resident of Bnei Brak charged with assault and threatening a 14-year-old neighbor.
The girl, who is the victim in this case, told the court that she entered her building in Bnei Brak and was shocked to see notices hanging in the lobby, a pashkavil reporting on her petira and levaya times. She tried to cover up the notices, leading to an argument with a neighbor, the defendant in this case.
The incident repeated itself a number of days later but this time, the neighbor became increasingly angry when she tried to remove the pashkavil and threw a glass at her, striking her in a shoulder and shouting at her “Your funeral will take place in two weeks”.
Ultimately, police became involved and the defendant was charged with assault and making threats. Police feel she is psychologically impaired and poses a danger, and as such, has requested the defendant remain behind bars for the duration of the trial.
The court has not yet announced its decision regarding the ‘no bail’ request from the prosecution.
