“Jerusalem Central District Police seeking qualified candidates who speak Yiddish (mother tongue level) for a challenging and interesting career. The advert addresses both men and women who are finishing their studies this year” an ad reads.

The unit seeking the Yiddish speaker addresses major crimes, serial crimes, intelligence gathering and more.

They’re looking to hire moserim. Considering the halacha is we must kill a moser, it is hard to believe anyone would be stupid enough to take this job, considering it is a serious violation of halacha.
#1,
Don’t start paskenim with ignorance, please.
#1 the definition of messirah is So who are these so-called mossrim going to masser to? Which גויים are you talking about?
When it comes to nizkei momon, the definition is different: המוסר ממון חברו ביד אנס, חייב לשלם מן היפה שבנכסיו; ואם מת, גובין מיורשיו כשאר כל המזיקין. בין שהיה האנס גוי, בין שהיה ישראל–הרי זה המוסר, חייב לשלם כל מה שלקח האנס. But that only creates a civil case; you sue the mosser in beis din and he has to pay. You can’t kill him, and he doesn’t lose his olam haba. He’s just like any other mazik. The mosser who loses his olam haba, and may be killed by anybody who can get away with it, is specifically המוסר ישראל ביד גויים, which doesn’t apply in this case.
The police recruiting with a Gmail address. Typically Israel. 🙂
nonsense, all the chareidim in mea she’arim and those areas speak perfect hebrew
I think #5 missed the part of the article which says <<>> In other words, there may be criminals who converse among themselves in Yiddish, and they need a policeman “who speak[s] Yiddish (mother tongue level)” to get information about such criminals.
#1 This makes perfect sense. When your population speaks a specific language it is best if the police can converse with them effectively.
The police are not out to get everyone. But imagine if you were the victim of a crime and you went to the police and not a single officer understood a word you said. How would that make you feel?
