The admorim of the Abuchatzera family were on hand Wednesday, 24 Iyar 5772 for the inauguration of a shul in memory of Rav Elazar ZT”L, who was murdered ten months ago. The new shul is in Yokneam, named Ohel Elazar in memory of the Baba Elazar ZY”A.

The land for the shul was given without charge by the Israel Lands Administration, permitting the construction of the 1.8 million NIS shul, which will serve the residents of the Givat HaKalaniyot neighborhood of the city.

The admorim had words of praise for Housing Minister (Shas) Ariel Atias, who also serves as the director of the Israel Lands Administration, realizing his efforts made the shul a reality. They praised the minister who they added “acted as the shaliach of Maran Rav Ovadia Shlita”.

In his address, Atias added that in the adjacent neighborhood, the ministry will soon begin construction of 1,300 housing units, 25% of which being allocated for young couples.

Mayor Simon Alfasi, who supported the construction of the new shul, gave his brochos as well and welcomed the planned construction in the city as well.
