Husband of 9/11 Victim Goes To Gitmo To Spare Pllotters From Death Sentence

The husband of a woman killed on 9/11 went to Guantanamo Bay on a shocking secret mission — to try to save the lives of the al-Qaeda monsters who planned the murder.

Blake Allison — one of 10 relatives of victims to win a lottery for tickets to the arraignment of confessed 9/11 mastermind Khalid Sheik Mohammed and four of his evil accomplices — had told people he was making the trip because “I wanted to see the faces of the people accused of murdering my wife.’’

But while there, the 62-year-old wine-company executive held a clandestine meeting with the terrorists’ lawyers, in which he offered to testify against putting their clients to death.

A vocal critic of capital punishment, Allison wants to convince the US government to spare the lives of KSM and his minions even if a military commission convicts them of a slew of death-penalty charges.

“The public needs to know there are family members out there who do not hold the view that these men should be put to death,” Allison told The Post.

“We can’t kill our way to a peaceful tomorrow.”

Allison’s 48-year-old wife, Anna, was a software consultant on her way to visit a client in Los Angeles when her plane, American Airlines Flight 11, was smashed into World Trade Center Tower 1 on Sept. 11, 2001.

In a lengthy conversation from his home in New Hampshire, Allison explained his controversial view — one he admits is not shared by his late wife’s relatives or by the other family members of victims he met at Guantanamo.

“My opposition to the death penalty does not say I don’t want the people who killed my wife and [the other 911 victims] brought to account for their crimes,” he said.

“But for me, opposition to the death penalty is not situational. Just because I was hurt very badly and personally does not, in my mind, give me the go-ahead to take a life.”

  1. I guess Mr. Allison must also be a pro-lifer…or maybe not! Anyone choose to bet on his abortion stance? Funny how these liberals are blatant contradictions. The life of the pure is disposable, but the life of the cruel is sacred.

  2. Mr. Allison doesn’t have to be a liberal to oppose the death penalty. Plenty of conservatives are also against it.

  3. Liberal/Conservative distinctions are not the point at all.

Mr.Allison seems to be a man of his prioncipler, sticking to his position even when it touches him personally and tragically.

And aren’t we supposed to have a principled position on capital punishment?

You guys sound no different than a bunch of goyishe Archie Bunkers…you have no principle on the issue, other than to say that if the rasha is evil enough, execute him.

  4. There is certainly no greater way to respect the dead then for a complete stranger to use their memory to anonymously criticize their spouse on an internet form.

  5. If you want to be a sick liberal and be against the death penalty, nu, nu, what can we do?
But to win the lottery and then go down and actually meet with the defending lawyers to actually TESTIFY for the defense? He’s not just stam a liberal, he’s an animal just like the people he wants to defend.

  6. Killing our way to a peaceful tomorrow seems to be the only way. How many decades have we tried to make peace through talking?

  7. #5, of coarse we should have a principled decision on Capital Punishment. Everyone should be in favor of it. Anyone that isnt is a slime ball

  8. I agree with all of the posters here who feel that it’s just awful when people don’t use the death of their loved ones as an opportunity to align their political beliefs with my own. In particular, the ones who call this guy they know absolutely nothing about a slime ball and an animal in particular make me proud to be Frum. Way to go.

  9. #5, I assume you were against the Nurenberg trials, and it probably bothered you that Eichmann was executed. You libs are truly sick in the head

  10. #15 you are missing the point. Just because some criminals DESERVE to be executed doesn’t mean we should execute them. In the past 20 years more than 100 men/women who were scheduled to be executed have been exonerated while on death row, largely due to DNA evidence, which hasn’t been around all that long. One can only imagine the number of people wrongly executed by the US government over the past 250 years. Our federal government can’t even balance a budget – how are we to believe that they’re qualified to dish out executions?

  11. There is nothing I find more funny or entertaining than someone who wrongfully uses the term “sick in the head” in order to personally attack American liberals who fully oppose the death penalty even for terrorists.

I see that as a lovely compliment… I feel really proud to be a American right now as well.
