Baruch Hashem, the six sifrei torah stolen from the Tzemach Zedek Shul in Tzfat last week were recovered as a result of three elementary school boys who found them in an abandoned structure.
Ariel Chaim Erdstein, 9, was accompanied by his friends on Sunday, as they hunted for a suitable location for their new clubhouse hangout. When they saw the sifrei torah, they headed directly for the Tzemach Tzedek shul to tell the rav of their discovery. They led the rav to the building, police were contacted, and the rest is history.
Police however are continuing the case, working to apprehend the thieves who broke into the shul last week and stole the sifrei kodesh that carry an estimated worth of over a quarter of a million dollars.
