Israel Radio reports that sources in Cairo are reporting Egypt has successfully negotiated a deal that will bring an end to the hunger strike in Israeli prisons by over 1,600 “security prisoners”, the term used to refer to terrorists incarcerated in Israel.

YWN-ISRAEL reported on Sunday, 21 Iyar 5772 that the strike may lead to another round of widespread Arab violence and Israeli officials have been monitoring the situation, interested in ending the strike as quickly as possible.

Details of the agreement that will halt the strike have not yet been released.
