Approximately 5,000 residents are currently without power, TLS reports.
Many homes and businesses have lost power around Lakewood. South Side Sandwich Shop, the Lexington Towers, Dr. Shanik’s office as well as many other businesses in the downtown area and other areas around town, have been affected.
Please use caution at intersections as multiple traffic lights are out as well.
There is no word yet on what the cause is or when electricity will be restored.
There are reports of heavy delays in the area of Route 88 and Clifton Avenue, as well as at Route 88 and Madison Avenue.
The cause of the outage is unknown, and JCPL is working on the problem. Lakewood Police Department have been deployed to intersections to assist in directing traffic.
