The first phase of the project is known as the “New Givat Ze’ev” to distinguish it from the Old Givat Ze’ev, which is primarily mizrachi and nonreligious, with the exception of the area where the Karliner chassidim live and a few spots that are known as “mitchared”. Please correct this article.
If someone has so much money that they can build their dream home even while many Jews are living in poverty, perhaps one might take note that traditional frum rich people usually try to distinguish themselves not by a high level of personal conspicuous consumption, but by being well known for giving tsadakah while living a normal lifestyle. That the current trend to the contrary should be seen as very troubling.

If you think that you can go to Eretz Yisroel just to live the ideal comfortable life of America without raising your level of Ruchnius, perhaps you are not ready for Eretz Yisroel. Life of Eretz Yisroel is full of challenges, and you really have to get a better understanding of what things are about.
Living in Eretz Yisroel is full of Physical and Spiritual dangers. If you want to live in Eretz Yisroel you have to be aware of the physical dangers that exist without deluding yourself that it is getting better. You also have to be aware of the MANY spiritual dangers that exist and be sure that you can stay distanced and immunized from them. It is not at all easy, and most of us are, quite frankly, not on that level.

The main problem is that the “Old” Givat Ze’ev (which they really mean the “New” Givat Ze’ev in their article) is not “all snapped up,” rather a large portion of it has been purchased, and a large percentage is still on paper. The community nearby that the real estate agents (who amazingly didn’t put their phone number here, so it’s not an ad) who wrote this aren’t telling the Americans that the New Givat Ze’ev is a very haredi and Israeli-style community. To create an infrastructure for a new American community would require their OWN schools…. Ramat Beit Shemesh style won’t go over there. This is a disaster waiting to happen, IMHO. I hope it doesn’t happen. The kids are not the type of kids that New Givat Zeev will want hanging around their streets or with their cheder boys or Beis Yaakov girls.
