While polls do not place him in a better position than his Yisrael Beitenu party holds today, Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman appears to determined to go to the polls, announcing his party no longer feels a loyalty to the current administration, which has failed to push legislation to compel military or national service for all citizens, including Arabs and chareidim.
Lieberman tell the media “we are ready” and feels that the sooner general elections are held; the better it will be for all. The current situation, in which the Knesset moves to transition mode, is bad for the nation and its economy he explains. He insists that his party has done everything possible to be loyal to voters and the party platform while compromising to keep the coalition together, but he does not feel the compromise will lead to advancing the party’s service for all agenda so he supports elections as soon as possible.
