While US President Barak Obama continues to call for sanctions and diplomacy to resolve the crisis with Iran, the US has ordered a number of advanced F22 fighter planes to the United Arab Emirates, 300km (180 miles) from Iran.
According to Aviation Report, the planes took part in maneuvers last week and they were then sent to the US UAE base. US officials would not confirm an exact location of the stealth fighter craft but confirmed they are in “southwestern Asia”.
US Air Force spokesman John Duran stated that the planes are not intended to threaten Iran but part of routine military cooperation between the United States and United Arab Emirates as well as advancing regional sovereignty and security as well as improving tactical abilities.
Duran would not give a number when asked how many planes were sent to the region, but stated due to their stealth abilities even a small number is most significant.

May I point out that the picture is of an Israeli F-15C and not an American F-22?
One should note that the United States refuses to sell the F-22 to any ally, and has substantially cut back on the number the USAF wanted to acquire on grounds they “lacked a mission.”
