Britain’s fifth largest supermarket chain has announced it will be boycotting settler manufactured goods from Israel. The Co-op Group released a message over the weekend that it is no longer going to do business with four Israeli firms because of ties to companies manufacturing goods in the “West Bank”. This decision is a major one, accounting for 2.12 million shekels annually. The boycott addresses Arava Export, Agrexco (the export arm of the Histadrut), Adafresh and Mehadrin companies.
The media release stresses the company does not intend to cut ties with Israeli firms, just West Bank companies, as well as adding efforts are underway to increase activities with “Palestinian businesses”.

Its about time. For People who hate Eretz Yisroel with a passion, they don’t deserve to eat from the hailige products. They will in essence weaken themselves (without getting too cryptic, The less connection they have with kedush the weaker they get). Besides, revach v’hatzolah yaamod layihudim bmkom acher. May klal Yisroel see yeshuos bekarov.
Bloody British! If they’d been fair in the beginning there wouldn’t be a question of “occupied” territories.
Ok so just bokycott that supermarket
The easiest way for Israel to retaliate would be to announce that if the Brits (and Europeans) don’t consider the West Bank to be part of Israel, than the settlements won’t be bound by Israeli treaties on intellectual property and enforcement of foreign judgements, meaning a West Bank internet company could ignore the boycotting country’s copyrights, patents and trademarks. This is how dealt with the Arab boycott in the 20th century (and one reason that Teva became the world’s leading producer of generic drugs).
Boycotts are a two way street. All Jew should boycott this organization and those who do business with them ie suppliers, banks etc. These Jew Haters are opening up a can of worms and who will suffer most in the end will be seen later.
“Britain’s fifth largest supermarket chain, the Co-Operative group…”
In Britain, the Big 4 supermarkets are Tesco, Sainsbury’s, Asda (part of Wal Mart), and Morrisons. They command just over 75% of UK supermarket sales. The rest are far, far smaller.
The largest UK Supermarket, Tesco, is way out in front of the other Big 3, with 6500 stores spread into 14 countries with half a million employees and £61 billion in revenue, making it the 3rd largest retailer in the world measured by revenue, or the second biggest if measured by profits.
The co-op chain is small, as can be seen from the fact that they only buy 2 million shekels worth annually. They operate mainly small supermarkets and convenience stores. I dont remember the last time I passed one. It cant be too much of a big deal IMO.
as a brit I can honestly say that I have ever heard of the coop group. So big deal they don’t stock it they will just have to buy more expEnsive local products and they will loose out
ken zayn is 100% correct. i was about to write the same thing. Let them boycott, let us show we don’t care. It won’t have a big effect. This is just another sign of many recent anti semitism in england especially london. May Hashem guard klal yisroel and bring moshiach quickly to end all these tzoras.
