Bin Laden Family Arrives In Saudi Arabia

The Yemeni wife of slain al Qaeda chief Usama bin Laden and other members of his family arrived in Saudi Arabia on Friday after they were expelled from Pakistan, a non-governmental organization said.

“The Yemeni woman has arrived in Saudi Arabia along with other members of the Bin Laden family, his children and his brother, who was looking after the case in Pakistan,” Mohammed Naji Allaw, of the Yemeni NGO Hood, told AFP.

The family, believed to include three widows, eight children and one grandchild, was deported just days before the first anniversary of the al Qaeda leader’s death.

The family arrived at the airport from a house in Islamabad aboard a minivan Thursday and entered the airport via a back entrance.

They then boarded a special flight to the Gulf kingdom that took off shortly before 2:00am local time, sources told AFP.

Bin Laden was killed in a May 2 raid by US forces on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan.

The bin Laden family was due to be deported last week for illegally entering and residing in Pakistan. But their lawyer, Muhammad Aamir, said deportation was postponed until they received their passports.
