Defense Minister Ehud Barak on Wednesday morning, 3 Iyar 5772 placed a closure that restricts residents of PA (Palestinian Authority) autonomous areas from crossing the so-called Green Line into “Israel proper”. The move coincides with the observance today of Memorial Day and Independence Day on Thursday. The closure will be lifted on Friday. They are not restricted from traveling around in PA areas or throughout Yehuda or Shomron.
Interestingly, while the defense minister is a major proponent of dialogue with the PA towards a comprehensive peace, when the situation demands, he realizes the threat posed to Israelis by the residents of PA areas and he restricts their movements to avoid a terror attack inside Israel proper.
In cases of humanitarian need, PA residents are permitted to pass military checkpoints and they may and do enter “Israel proper” during the closure period.

That is a great plan to prevent terrorist attacks!!! Means that they will just go in illegally!!!
You are placing a closure on civilians in anticipation of a possible attack. In so doing you are in essence creating and enabling that same politically motivated attack. Instead place a closure on the celebration of this ill-named festival of subjugation known as ‘independence day’ once and for all.
