Statement by the President Obama On Yom HaShoah

On this Holocaust Remembrance Day, I join people of all faiths across the United States, in Israel and around the world in paying tribute to all who suffered in the Shoah—a horrific crime without parallel in human history. We honor the memory of six million innocent men, women and children who were sent to their deaths simply because of their Jewish faith. We stand in awe of those who fought back, in the ghettos and in the camps, against overwhelming odds. And in the year of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Raoul Wallenberg, we are humbled by the rescuers who refused to be bystanders to evil.

On this day, and all days, we must do more than remember. We must resolve that “never again” is more than an empty slogan. As individuals, we must guard against indifference in our hearts and recognize ourselves in our fellow human beings. As societies, we must stand against ignorance and anti-Semitism, including those who try to deny the Holocaust. As nations, we must do everything we can to prevent and end atrocities in our time. This is the work I will advance when I join survivors and their families at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum on Monday. This must be the work of us all, as nations and peoples who cherish the dignity of every human being.

  1. Christianity loaded the gun for two thousand years.
    The Nazis pulled the trigger.
    Christians dislike Mormons
    Muslims hate Christians
    etc.
    But everyone hates the Jews.
    signed,
    and old paranoid Jew

the reason is America is more anti semitic even than Nazi Germany. At least hitler had the guts to say he hated Jews but America (and england) simply said, “Bad boy Hitler you really must help the Jews” but then they could not take in any Jews at the Evian conference. And then 3 years after ww2 the so-called medina of Hesed had the Berlin Airlift to save the poor miskane Germans yet at the same time refused to allow even one bullet to arrive to Israel the country that according to General Monty Commander of British forces in ww2 had only 2 weeks to live.

The reason that the white house is not called the blue house has no relelvence to the fact that blue paint was not availiable. It is white means lavan in hebrew and Lavan was never wrong. Everything he did was according to law.

  3. And one more thing. How can a Jew 64 years after ww2 even consider wanting to live with the Chrisitians? If I lived at Aushwitz I would be on the first boat to the JEWISH homeland. The only country that celelbrates Shabbot as a nationial holiday and Yomkippor as a nationial holiday instead of Christmas and Sunday (or friday and ramamdan).

  4. marvafan says “….America is more anti semitic even than Nazi Germany…”

On bhalf of the survivors in my famil, and in the name of the 6,000,000, I tell you marvafan that you should be deeply ashamed of yourself…and of your wretched ignorance.

My ignorance???? America had 250,000 war planes and could not spare a single plane to bomb aushwitz?

Giving Israel weapons would involve america in a war yet giving germans supplies against soviet controls would not start a war?

America screaming at hitler being such a bad boy for his mistreatment of the jews yet not able to take any jews

And I am not just talking about events 76 years ago. Even today the embassy is in Tela Aviv and dual citizens have their american passports stamped born in jeruslame vs born in england for london births and france for Paris births.

No Yonasan you should be embarrased for your ignorance and for willfully following the philosophy of the soaps that refuse to admit that they don’t even have enough dedication to their religion to live in their ethnic homeland.

  6. America is a very good country. It has had in the past bad presidents. It has a bad president right now. His words are totally meaningless and full of hot air.
