Israel’s Media Watch organization feels that Mrs. Chanit Rein, a bereaved mother was duped as she spoke with a Channel 10 TV news reporter. The complaint filed with police states that the interview aired during the news included a conversation between Mrs. Rein and Lt.-Colonel Shalom Eisner, without her knowledge, making it tantamount to eavesdropping. The complaint was filed against Channel 10’s Ohr Heller.

Channel 10 rejects the allegation, stating Mrs. Rein was well aware the conversation she was having with the IDF officer was being recorded.

The daily Yisrael HaYom adds Mrs. Rein is “furious but unwilling to file a complaint at this time”.

The report concludes police are uncertain as how to react to the Media Watch complaint.
